![]() When I came home from SC, I had only gotten 5 hours of sleep the last night. And if next time I go on vacation I stay at a place with no gym, I will be relaxed. I also won't be afraid to take breaks when my body is telling me to, no matter how much I've accomplished. I won't be afraid to treat myself once in a while (I certainly don't regret the ice cream and pralines I devoured during my trip), and I will push myself when I need to, because I know deep down I CAN, and this trip proved it. I will include a much larger variety of healthy foods in my diet. I will run farther than I usually do, and complete more intense workouts. Instead of running in the blistering hot afternoons, starting tomorrow I will run in the early mornings. This trip has very much inspired me to change up my lifestyle a bit. The feelings during and after my workouts were incredible too, something I rarely ever experience. I sure will miss waking up early (despite the fact that I usually run in the afternoons and do not consider myself a morning person) with my cousin, drinking coffee, and going on our way. It was a very beautiful scenic route, and the occasional route I took back on the beach was even more beautiful. Each day of the week I ran farther than I ever knew I could with my family's encouragement motivating me. I was relieved when I got there there was (low and behold), a gym that was a little over a half mile run to and from the place I was staying, and I did make sure I got my exercise in. And they are so necessary! I could go on, but needless to say taking breaks do the soul very well. A vacation should be a deep breath in the midst of our chaotic, scheduled lives. Vacations are about letting go for a little while. Let me just say that, first of all, I know now that your mind should not be occupied with the idea of weight gain or sticking to a routine before going on your vacation. I was constantly asking myself what am I going to eat? Is this trip going to make me gain weight? How am I supposed to get any exercise in? ![]() I enjoyed every second of the trip but man, I am so glad to be writing this in the comfort of my own living room, along with my sleeping dog nestled against my feet.Ī few days prior to the vacation, I was stressing about how the trip was going to affect my lifestyle. ![]() This afternoon I arrived home from my week long vacation to South Carolina. ![]()
